Impact
Art with purpose, crafted by hand.
Threaded Companions supports the Enabling the Disabled Foundation, founded by David Kofi Boateng in 2022. The foundation supports families of children with special needs in underserved communities across Africa, and empowers mothers of neurodivergent children in Ghana through sustainable community projects.
Through art and craftsmanship, each portrait contributes to a larger mission of dignity, opportunity and care.

Why it matters
Every family deserves dignity and support
In many remote regions, neurodivergence is still misunderstood and, in extreme cases, seen as a bad omen, leading to stigma, isolation and abandonment.
The foundation renovates special-needs schools, trains and empowers mothers of neurodivergent children, and builds sustainable, community-driven businesses that create long-term income for families often excluded from traditional economic systems.
David founded the foundation in 2022. “Children with special needs end up on the streets in Ghana, because people believe they are cursed. I want to help those families.”
“Through thread, I build bridges between collectors, artisans, and families of children with special needs, creating moments of joy, awe, and dignity.”
